Explanation and Legend for Capitol Track Report

Annually the California Catholic Conference reviews thousands of pieces of proposed legislation and tracks hundreds. The bills that are tracked are allocated to four different lobbyists, who assign the appropriate CCC position and priority. Those bills concern a number of issues, and most are considered of particular interest to one or more of our constituent groups.

The key to the information on the report you will see is:

  • The list of bills is divided into the Constituent Groups, each one headed by a bold abbreviation centered on the page. Those groups are:

     

    • CAPSO: California Association of Private School Organizations
    • CCCEd: CCC Education Committee
    • CCoC: Catholic Charities of California
    • CCSS: California Catholic School Superintendents
    • CDA: Catholic Diocesan Attorneys
    • DDM: Diocesan Detention Ministry
    • DHM: Diocesan Hispanic Ministry
    • DRE: Diocesan Religious Education
    • FLD: Family Life Directors
    • RLD: Respect Life Directors
    • SAD: Social Action Directors
  • The CCC's Position on a bill is designated by one of the following abbreviations:

     

    • N = Neutral
    • N*= Neutral, amendment considered
    • S = Support
    • S*= Support, amendment considered
    • O = Oppose
    • O*= Oppose unless amended
  • The Priority assigned to the bill is:

     

    • Major
    • Significant
    • Monitor
    • Read
  • The Subjects of the issues we lobby are: (The numbers are for internal control)
