San Francisco Holds Prayer Services to Remember Victims of Violence

The Archdiocese of San Francisco will be conducting special prayer services this week to remember people who were killed in the city and its surrounding area since October and their families. "We ask that you please remember, during daily and Sunday services, all affected family, friends and those involved in these crimes," said Julio Escobar, Director of Restorative Ministry.

Rev. Piers Lahey, Pastor at St. Andrews Church in Daly City, or Rev. Jose Corral, Pastor at St. James Church in San Francisco, will be leading many of the services at the location where the deaths occurred. Please call for exact times and locations.

The following people will be remembered:

  • Bruce Sawyer (55 years old) killed November 9, 2016
  • Zachary Banks (26 years old) killed November 18, 2016
  • Jenonee Gaines (18 years old) killed November 25, 2016
  • Jermaine Jackson (27 years old) killed November 30, 2016
  • Nathaniel Burgess (35 years old) killed December 4, 2016
  • Lisa Williams (21 years old) killed December 7, 2016
  • Gwendolyn Bess (56 years old) killed December 8, 2016
  • Jose Soriano (20 years old) killed December 8, 2016
  • Terrence Briggs (35 years old) killed December19, 2016 
  • Mario Trefault (28 years old) killed October 23, 2016 (Burlingame)
  • Unidentified (2-year-old baby) killed November 27, 2016 (East Palo Alto)
  • Ariana Hatami (23 years old) killed December 17, 2016 (Daly City)
