San Quentin Inmates Remembered in Lourdes

May 30, 2017

When Bishop Michael C. Barber, SJ, from the Diocese of Oakland and Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone of the Archdiocese of San Francisco made a pilgrimage to Lourdes in May, they carried petitions written by inmates at San Quentin prison with them. The bishops held the petitions against the rock of the Lourdes grotto. Afterward, Bishop Barber collected the petitions and took them to a Carmelite monastery so the nuns could pray for the inmates.
